Our client is a group of companies in stamping, forming and assembly technology with more than 1000 employees in Germany, Eastern Europe and ASIA. As a supplier for high-quality automotive technology, they are developing and manufacturing mechanical and mechatronic looking and hinge systems for the global automotive market.

Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Head of Controlling to lead our controlling function and drive financial efficiency across our operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in manufacturing, expertise in standard costing (including BOMs, routings, and production variances), and advanced proficiency with SAP systems (preferably with implementation experience).

Key Responsibilities:

• Controlling Management:
• Oversee and manage all controlling activities, including budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and financial reporting.
• Develop and maintain cost control systems, ensuring accurate allocation of costs (direct/indirect, fixed/variable).
• Standard Costing:
• Implement and monitor standard costing practices, including the creation and maintenance of Bills of Materials (BOMs) and routings.
• Analyze production costs, variances, and margins to provide actionable insights for decision-making.
• SAP Systems Management:
• Lead and optimize SAP usage for controlling and finance modules (FI/CO).
• Participate in or lead SAP system implementation or upgrades, ensuring alignment with operational and financial requirements.
• Team Leadership:
• Build, manage, and mentor the controlling team to deliver high-quality financial insights and support operational excellence.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment between finance and operations.
• Strategic Support:
• Provide financial analysis and insights to support strategic decision-making and operational efficiency.
• Support the CFO and management team with ad-hoc reports, business cases, and investment evaluations.

Requirements:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field. A Master’s degree or professional certification (e.g., CIMA, ACCA) is a plus.
• Experience:
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in controlling roles, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of standard costing, BOMs, and manufacturing processes.

Technical Skills:

• Proficiency in SAP (FI/CO module required; SAP implementation experience is highly preferred).
• Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills.
• Language Skills: Fluent in German and English (both written and spoken).
• Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead teams, drive process improvements, and manage multiple priorities.
• Analytical Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities and a results-oriented mindset.
