Our client is a reliable automotive supplier, providing a wide range of market-ready components such as hinges, locking systems, clamps, mechatronic systems, strengthening bars and other transmission components.

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable Team Leader to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in both accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, along with leadership skills to effectively manage a team. While proficiency in German is advantageous, it is not a mandatory requirement.

Responsibilities:

Team Leadership:

1. Supervise and lead a team of General Ledger professionals.
2. Provide guidance, training, and mentorship to team members.
3. Ensure the team meets performance targets and deadlines.

Supervise the team activity:

• General Ledger Maintenance: Maintain and reconcile the general ledger accounts on a regular basis to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data
• Month-End and Year-End Closing: Participate in the month-end and year-end closing processes, including preparing journal entries, financial statements, and reconciliations
• Financial Reporting: Assist in the preparation of financial reports and statements for internal and external stakeholders, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations
• Variance Analysis: Analyze financial data, investigate variances, and provide explanations for any discrepancies or irregularities
• Account Reconciliation: Reconcile accounts, resolve discrepancies, and ensure timely resolution of outstanding issues
• Financial Auditing: Collaborate with auditors during financial audits and provide necessary documentation and support
• Process Improvement: Identify and recommend process improvements to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of financial reporting and accounting operations
• Adherence to Policies: Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting principles, and relevant regulations

To excel in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and skills:

• A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
• Proven experience as a General Ledger Accountant or in a similar accounting role
• People management expertise
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices, including knowledge of GAAP and German HGB
• Proficiency in SAP and Microsoft Excel
• Excellent analytical skills with an acute attention to detail
• Effective communication and teamwork skills
• Strong time management and organizational abilities
• Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines
• CPA certification is a plus but not required
