Commodity Manager

Responsibilities and tasks:
- Management of the commodity / as well as technical management of the commodity team (RCLs) / ensuring communication within the commodity of targets, escalation etc. with close involvement of the SQEs
- Developing and regularly adapting the commodity strategy for OE and aftermarket requirements, taking into account internal and external influencing factors (e.g. internal: corporate strategy / external: political developments (laws))
- Development of potentials and generation of savings in coordination with the respective regions / specialist departments (e.g. VA/VE measures)
- Collaboration with cross-functional partners; driver for cross-functional collaboration (e.g. lead function in cloverleaf teams)
- Responsible for global supplier selection, definition of the supplier pool used within the commodity, ensuring that this is communicated and stored in Astras
- Search, development and management of strategically relevant suppliers as well as building strategic partnerships with suppliers
- Responsible for contract management (negotiation, implementation and execution) with suppliers / coverage of contracts within the commodity
- Ensuring the realization of corresponding savings potential and the achievement of targets by developing framework agreements, renegotiating contracts or formulating internal guidelines for dealing with suppliers and contracts
- Creating and tracking global action plans
- Synchronization of top-down and bottom-up targets
- Reporting KPIs and deriving measures to achieve target values
- Cooperation with other tk BUs on commodities where there is a high overlap in terms of supplier pool and specifications
- Responsible for final supplier selection for new projects / guidance for PBU in awarding activities
Qualifications:
- Technical University Degree;
- Several years of professional experience in purchasing (automotive background);
- Experience working with: MS Office applications, Sharepoint, document management system, ERP system (currently SAP); PLM system (currently Oracle), PowerBI;
- Familiar with Standards (e.g. IATF / ISO (both external), WNB (internal)), Customer requirements, Laws (e.g. LKSG) + regulations (e.g. CBAM)
- Advanced English level
- Willingness to travel - around 30%
