Our client is a first-class global partner for original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) looking for exceptional sealing, fluid transfer, compound and rubber components.
He/She will be responsible to manage overall Daily Plant operations, reporting directly to the Plant
Manager and leading:
1. Production & Process
2. Maintenance & Engineering
3. Lean and Continuous Improvement
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Ensures compliance with the rules and procedures in Safety, Audit, providing guidelines, on the shop floor with the support of the HSE department including the BBS ‘’Behavior based Safety’’ and the Safety visible leadership to anchor a strong proactive safety behavior on the shop floor.
- Plans and organizes daily activities related to Production departments (Mixing – Extrusion and finishing) including technical management, supervision, control of industrial production processes whilst Leading daily SQDCP management operations routines.
- Measures and ensures a daily tracking of Operations Industrial Performance by analyzing Plant performance dashboard (Production output, OEE, ConQ, Plant Scrap, Efficiency, machines breakdowns, Safety, Absenteeism, customer claims…) financial data (Plant Margin, Manufacturing variances, stock value...) and activity reports.
- Size plant operations headcount and determines labor needs to meet Production goals.
- Investment plans, all maintenance activities related to machines, buildings and utilities, the industrialization activities related to the launch of new products (from feasibility analysis to series production), and the improvement of production processes through Lean and Kaizen workshops.
- Partner and coordinate with Supply chain department from receiving materials until shipping to customers to meet customer orders demand on time in full. Contribute to build the S&OP with Sales department, then prepare the Production planning (MPS) until the detailed scheduling per lines and product families.
- Prepare the annual Maintenance budget including (Spare parts, Labor, contractors) to deploy and execute the maintenance strategy by Equipment (corrective, preventive, predictive).
- Supports the deployment of changes, such as layout optimization, implementation of new lean projects initiatives, engineering changes, acting as a link between production and technical teams.
- Coordinates with other support departments such as human resources, finance, Quality, Supply chain and Sales to ensure successful production operations.

Required skills/Capabilities:
- An engineering degree in a related field (industrial, mechanical, electrical, or chemical engineering) is essential. MBA is plus.
- Professional knowledge of English.
- Consolidated experience gained in a similar role (~5 years), preferably in companies in the Automotive sector (Tier 1). The origin from companies with rubber and plastic processing is a preferential requirement.
- Professional knowledge of Windows environment and Office package.
- Good knowledge of the processes/products of drawing, compound production and stamping.
- Consolidated knowledge of statistical techniques/data processing.
- Knowledge of Core Quality Tools: FMEA, APQP, PPAP, MSA, SPC.
- Knowledge of Problem-Solving Tools (8D, 5 Why, Cause and Effect, etc.) and techniques (6sigma, Kaizen, Kepner Tregoe, etc).
- At least 10 years supervisory and management experience in manufacturing, with exposure to lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, or other formal productivity improvement programmed (Lean Six Sigma Blackbelt preferred), ISO9001/14001 and IATF 16949
- Very good people management skills in a tight social environment, experience of working in a trade union environment is desirable.
- Strong people-oriented management skills and a proven ability to motivate and lead people.
- Experience and competence in using all Microsoft Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint)
- Strong experience in MRP/ERP systems, project management, programming, inventory management and general accounting
- Must be able to create, maintain and contribute to a team environment and to promote the collective interests of the team rather than their own interests
- Must be a self-starter, highly organised and able to work at all levels of the organisation.
