Business Controller
Contributing to the development of the controlling department at the level of operational processes
Our client is an entrepreneurial company, recognized for its professionalism and strong focus on sustainable business development. To support growth and align internal processes with modern standards, we are looking for a Senior Business Controller who will support managers in strategic decision-making, optimize controlling processes, and contribute to organizational transformation projects.
The Senior Business Controller plays a key role in supporting management decision-making by providing high-quality financial reporting, in-depth financial and cost analysis, and clear interpretation of financial and operational data. The role acts as a business partner to management and operational teams, ensuring financial transparency, performance optimization, and sustainable profitability.
Key Responsibilities
1. Reporting & Management Information
Prepare, analyze, and deliver monthly, quarterly, and annual management reports (P&L, KPIs, dashboards).
Ensure accuracy, consistency, and timeliness of financial data used for decision-making.
Develop and improve management reporting tools, including automated reports and dashboards.
Provide variance analysis versus budget, forecast, and prior periods, with clear explanations.
2. Financial & Cost Analysis
Perform detailed financial performance analysis at business unit, product, or project level.
Analyze cost structures (fixed vs. variable, direct vs. indirect) and identify cost optimization opportunities.
Support budgeting, forecasting, and rolling forecast processes.
Monitor margins, profitability, and cost efficiency across the organization.
3. Data Interpretation & Business Partnering
Interpret complex financial and operational data and translate it into actionable insights.
Act as a financial business partner for operational and commercial teams.
Support strategic initiatives through scenario analysis, sensitivity analysis, and business cases.
Challenge assumptions and provide fact-based recommendations to management.
4. Process Improvement & Governance
Improve controlling processes, methodologies, and internal controls.
Ensure alignment between financial data and operational drivers.
Support system improvements (ERP, BI tools) and data quality initiatives.
Contribute to standardization and best practices in controlling and reporting.
Requirements & Qualifications
Professional Experience
Minimum 5–7 years of experience in Business Controlling, Financial Controlling, or related finance roles.
Strong background in management reporting, cost controlling, and financial analysis.
Experience working closely with operational teams and senior management.
Prior exposure to manufacturing, logistics, automotive, or FMCG environments is an advantage.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or Business Administration.
Professional certifications (ACCA, CIMA, CFA) are a plus.
Technical Skills
Advanced knowledge of financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and cost controlling.
Strong proficiency in Excel; experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP) and BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, etc.) is a strong advantage.
Ability to work with large datasets and complex financial models.
Soft Skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain financial topics to non-financial stakeholders.
Business-oriented mindset with attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
