Principal Software Engineer

The Principal Software Engineer is responsible for design, development, testing and support of new and existing software components for the company’s Reverse Vending Machine. The Principal Software Engineer is responsible for identifying, documenting and fixing defects. Will work with the Validation team to create and execute comprehensive test plans. The Engineer will also be responsible for research and documentation of new and existing functionality and technologies.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Development and Implementation of Reverse Vending Machine Software for all products within the company
Developing new Features for our product lines.
Resolve issues related to Reverse Vending Machine database functionality.
Work with senior engineering staff to ensure architectural continuity in our development.
Mentor engineers to ensure architectural conformance.
Contribute to the definition of software requirements and functional operation of our system.
Continuous improvement of architecture, tools, and processes.
Communicate with cross-function teams to:
Facilitate the generation of functional requirements and system testing.
Ensure functionality is properly validated
Provide third-tier field support.
Qualifications & Education
Bachelor’s Degree in Software Engineering or equivalent industry experience - Within Software Engineering, Computer Science or similar.
MUST have a High proficiency in C++ for Linux systems
10 - 15 years of programming experience.
Experience using Linux as a development platform.
Experience with the design, development, and maintenance of software packages.
Experience with Python is a plus.
Customer focused.
Excellent communication and team working skills
Motivated, independent, and structured way of working
Very good language skills in English. German is a Bonus
