Data Engineer

We are currently partnering with a leading company in the energy transformer manufacturing industry, ranked among the top players in Europe and globally.
At the moment, they are building a Global IT Hub in Romania, with the local team being developed from scratch. For this Data Engineer role, the main catch is the opportunity to contribute to a newly started project and help build a Center of Excellence, bringing real value to a strategic global initiative.
Role Overview
As a Data Engineer, you will be responsible for building and operating the data foundation that enables analytics and AI across the organization. You will design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and ensure that data from various source systems is reliably integrated and accessible.
Working closely with Data Architects, Data Scientists, and business stakeholders, you will play a key role in transforming raw data into high-quality, usable data products that support business decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines for data ingestion, processing, and transformation
Integrate data from multiple source systems (e.g., ERP, MES, engineering systems)
Ensure data quality, consistency, and reliability across the data platform
Implement and optimize data storage and processing solutions
Collaborate with Data Architects to align with target architecture and standards
Support Data Scientists and business teams by providing well-structured and accessible data
Monitor and troubleshoot data pipelines and workflows
Contribute to the development of a modern, cloud-based data platform
Apply software engineering best practices in data development
Your Profile:
Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
Several years of experience in data engineering or software engineering
Strong programming skills (e.g., Python, SQL)
Experience with data integration and pipeline development
Familiarity with modern data architectures (data warehouse, data lake, lakehouse)
Experience with cloud-based data platforms (e.g., GCP, AWS, Azure) is a plus
Understanding of data quality and monitoring concepts
Experience with version control and CI/CD pipelines
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Ability to work in cross-functional teams
